We have black wigs that are made with different cap constructions: 

• A lace front wig gives you a realistic hairline. The top front of the wig has a nearly invisible film of lace with very small hairs individually tied by hand into the material to give the illusion of hair growth.
• A basic cap wig is designed by sewing sections of hair, also known as wefts, into a thin elastic material. The open spacing around the wefts allows air to pass through for a breathable style. 
• A monofilament wig has sheer mesh fabric in the cap that allows the color of your own scalp to show through the hair fibers that are either hand tied or sewn into the material. This cap construction creates the appearance of natural hair growth. We also have full monofilament top wigs where you can part or style the hair in either direction. 
• A hand tied wig refers to the individual hairs being hand tied into the cap, giving them all the movement you love about natural hair!

• The lifespan of a wig depends on what the hair fibers are made of and how well you care for your wig. If your black wig is made with human hair, it has the potential to last 6-12 months with proper care. 
• If your black wig is designed with synthetic fibers, it can last 3-6 months with proper care. 
• Several factors affect the longevity of your wig - how often you wear it and style it. A good rule of thumb is wash your wig after 6-8 and use shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for synthetic wigs. If your synthetic wig is not heat friendly, using heat styling tools can damage the hair. 

We highly recommend taking your black wig to a salon professional. While you can customize the shape and cut of your wig, you risk damaging the hair fibers and ruining the wig.
