The length of your wig depends on several factors: what your wig is made out of, how well you take care of it, and how often you wear it. 

• If your short wig is made of synthetic hair, it has an expected lifespan of 3-6 months. On the other hand, human hair wigs have an expected lifespan of 6-12 months with proper care. 
• Using a lot of heat on your wig can potentially damage the fibers and create frizzing. That’s why it's important to make sure your wig is heat friendly and to use a good heat protection spray. 
• When you wash or style your wig, always use products made for wigs and what the hair fiber is made from.

Caring and maintaining your short wig determines its longevity and the kind of experience you’ll have with it. Use these tips to help you prolong the life of your short wig: 

• Place your wig on a wig stand when you’re done wearing it. You can also store the wig in a wig box for long term storage.
• Wash your wig every 6-8 wears. Avoid soaking your wig and do not put conditioner on the knots.
• If you use any care or styling products, make sure they are specially made for wigs and formulated for each fiber, especially shampoos and conditioners.
• Use a wide tooth comb to detangle the wig hair. Also, be sure to use a good detangling spray for synthetic fibers.

For example, if you’re looking for a realistic hairline, choose a lace front wig. If you have a sensitive scalp, get a hand tied wig or a double monofilament wig.

• Human hair wigs are made with bio hair, so the wig looks and feels like your natural hair. 

Here are the different cap constructions short wigs in our collection have:

• Lace front wigs give you a realistic hairline because the hairs are hand tied into the see-through lace material that extends across the top front of the wig. Depending on the style, wigs with lace fronts can range from across the forehead to extending to the ears.
• Hand tied wigs are an excellent choice if you have a sensitive scalp or looking for a natural look. The individual hairs are tied by hand into the cap to create the appearance of hair growth. 
• Basic cap wigs are made with a thin elastic material that have sections of hair, also known as wefts, sewn into the cap. The open spacing around the wefts allows air to flow into the wig for breathability. 
• Monofilament wigs have see-through mesh material that allows the color of your scalp to show through to create the illusion of hair growth. The hair fiber can either be sewn or hand tied in sections into the top part of the cap. A full monofilament top offers more styling versatility because you can part or brush the hair in any direction.

A short wig’s hairstyle determines which face shape complements it. For example, bob wigs are flattering for most face shapes while pixie wigs look great on oval, square, and heart-shaped faces. Regardless of your face shape, you should still try a short wig if that’s what you like!

We highly recommend taking your short wig to a salon professional if you want to add layers or bangs. Trying to customize your wig might damage the hair fibers and ruin the wig.
