Men's Hairpieces FAQs

How do men’s hairpieces stay on?

There are two methods a men’s hairpiece can stay on:

  • A men’s hairpiece easily attaches your hair with pressure sensitive clips.
  • The hairpiece has a polyurethane coating around perimeter that easily grips to your head with tape or wig adhesive.

What are men's hairpieces, and how do they differ from full wigs?

A hairpiece helps provide coverage over an area of hair loss or thinning hair. They give the appearance of fuller hair while seamlessly blending in with your natural hair. A wig covers the whole head and is made with either synthetic fiber or human hair. Wigs can help hide hair loss or to make a fashion statement.

What materials are used in crafting men's hairpieces?

  • Our men’s hairpieces are made with synthetic hair. The high quality synthetic fibers are made to mimic the look and feel of natural hair.
  • Some men’s hairpieces are made to look very natural. Look for styles with a lace front for a realistic hairline. Hairpieces with monofilament and/or hand tied caps create the appearance of hair growth. If you have a sensitive scalp, opt for a hand tied cap!

What is the maintenance routine for men's hairpieces?

  • Wash your hairpiece every 6-8 wears.
  • Place your hairpiece on a wig stand or store it safely in its box for long term storage.
  • If your hair piece gets any tangles, use a wide tooth comb and a good detangling spray to brush.
  • Use styling and care products specially made for wigs and formulated for each fiber, especially shampoos and conditioners.

How do I choose the right size for a men's hairpiece?

  1. First, you’ll want to determine your area for hair loss.
  2. Next, get a flexible tape measure and measure the length and width of your area for hair loss. Be sure to add ¾”-1” to each measurement to avoid additional hair loss and irritation. Adding this extra measurement will allow your hair piece to attach to stronger hair follicles and to help support the weight of the hair piece.
  3. Now you can determine what kind of coverage you need, so you can select the perfect hairpiece for your needs.
  4. Lastly, once you have found your hairpiece, compare its product specifications to your recorded measurements to make sure you have the right style for your needs.
