How Long do Heat Friendly Wigs Last?

Heat friendly wigs last around 3 months or more depending on how you care for them. The fiber is more prone to frizzing than regular synthetic fiber, but you can keep your heat friendly wig in great shape by following these tips: 

  • Avoid over-styling and using too high of temperatures, which can damage the fiber. Keep your thermal styling tools between 275° F to 300° F. Watch our video here on how to style heat friendly fiber.

  • Detangle often using a wide tooth comb and detangling spray. Focus on the nape where wigs tend to tangle the most.

  • Be sure to use care products that are made for the fiber and follow manufacturer care and handling instructions. Watch our video here on how to properly wash a wig.

  • Regularly check your wig for fiber that's frizzed and smooth it out with a flat iron. Sometimes frizz is past the point of flat ironing and requires steam to smooth it out. Watch our video here on how to de-frizz synthetic fiber using a steamer.
