Do Wigs Cause Hairloss?

Do Lace Front Wigs Cause Hairloss?

We have all heard the Old Wives' Tale that claims "wearing a hat too often will lead to baldness", but is this actually true? And if wearing hats causes baldness, then what about lace front wigs?

Lace Front Wigs

While many people believe that wearing wigs or hats causes baldness, this is actually a MYTH!  Wearing clean hats and wigs will not damage hair follicles as long as they are not too tight. If the hat or wig is too tight, it can result in Traction  Alopecia. It's great to know that lace wigs and hats do not contribute to thinning hair, but the good news doesn't stop there! Did you know that wearing wigs actually comes with benefits? It's true!

Will Lace Wigs Make My Hair Fall Out?

Lace front wigs do not cause hair loss or breakage and are very safe to wear over natural hair. In fact, one benefit of wearing wigs is the protection of the biological hair underneath.  While washing and styling hair is a fundamental part of many people’s daily haircare regimen, damage or breakage can often occur as a result.  Lace front human hair wigs are great for wearing over natural hair especially when fine or thin.  Teasing, using styling products, and even brushing natural hair can eventually take a toll on the health of the hair.  Many people find it necessary to wash their hair every day because of the oil that builds up.

With wigs, it doesn’t matter how oily biological hair looks underneath!  Wearing wigs gives the bio-hair underneath a break from the harmful heat-styling tools and chemicals that come from many styling creams, gels, and pomades.

Many people, including The Wig Experts at wigs.com, use deep-conditioning treatments and masks on their real hair while wearing wigs during the day to strengthen and heal damaged hair underneath.  Wigs in the past have had a reputation for looking fake, but those days are long gone!  The evolution of wigs has brought them to a point where they are now virtually undetectable due to revolutionary new features such as lace fronts, monofilament tops and cap construction types. You can now be confident that you look amazing while protecting and strengthening your biohair underneath your wig!

I am 55 and have been slowly loosing my hair for several years now. I’m convinced it’s from it’s from my medical history as in surgeries, medications and the everything else. But now it’s coming out by the brush fills everyday! It’s just horrible, so depressing.
