Alison | Synthetic Lace Front Wig (Mono Top)

I love Jon Renau fibers but hate how much hair his wigs have. They’re always very “wiggy” and have a ton of permatease. I have a big head already so I prefer my wigs to be smaller in density so it’s not increasing my big head problem. I also feel like big bulky wigs scream fake hair with my facial features.

But Alison is thinner and straight as a board. I love it. I do have to buy them more often because wearing it 7 days a week means I get 4-5 months before the thinness is showing.

YMMV, but to me the sleek look is worth it. When I see these on sale I’ll buy several at once.

I usually trim the back because hair on my shoulders drives me bonkers and I think it makes the fibers scratchier over time.

This is similar to the Jamison, which I also bought at wigs.com. Except for me the Jamison is just a smidge too small and gave me pinch headaches.

To the reviewer that said hers was too small, I’m wondering if she got a petite by mistake? Because mine is roomy and with my head size I should only be ordering large?

I previously reviewed and said this wig would be great if it were HF and did not have a lace front. Those things are still true, but trying to wear it, I have found a couple other issues. The mono top is too small, any side part is really just offset from the center. I have to hang it wonky to get the part where I would usally place it meaning I will have to trim one side.

The ear tabs make it impossible to wear glasses. I will have to bend them outward or break them off to be able to wear.

Sigh. Why can't ONE of these be right? Frustrating, on top of having something tight and stuck to your head. I wish I could find someone to make a wig for me. This would be the style and weight, just smaller ear stays that didn't interfere with glasses, bigger mono top, NO permatease (there isn't much but it is in the crown and makes a weird bump on your head that you have to work hard to get smoothed down, NO LACE so one can pull out bio hair or it sticks to the hairline, and heat friendly so it isn't doll hair shiny.

Will wear but continue to search for the right piece. I may just wear hats for the rest of my life.

Oh my goodness, I think I may have found one. Every piece I have order has been pretty, just WAYYYYYYY too much hair. This piece would be absolutely perfect if: It was my real hair - j/k. Two things I wish Jon Reneau would do for this piece:

1. Remove the lace front. That latex sticky front is best, lays flat, can pull my bio hair out from underneath.

2. Heat Friendly fibers - that way it looks real - the non-heat friendly are way to shiny, have to spray a lot of dry shampoo on them to make them look natural.

Oh, and offer more rooted colors in this one. Gosh, I don't want to do this at all but this is the first one that did not feel like a teased wooly mammoth on my head. I will have to figure out how to secure it comfortably. I tried another one on several times over the last couple weeks using a wig grip and that bulk makes it miserable. Now that I have one that I am going to keep I am going to try the body adhesive and maybe sew clips into the bottom back.

But this is the perfect weight, style and length for me. I don't want to do a bunch of wild stuff - I applaud those who do but I just want to look like ME. Closest so far...
